Goa - Movie Review

Let me start with the disclaimer. "This movie is far better than any recent Vijay/Ajith/Sun Pictures movie"

This Ch-28 team's great asset is their talent to show things differently. You can always expect something different from them. This movie also has such different and interesting scenes spread all over the movie which will make the entire crowd laugh heavily.

But the problem with Goa compared to Ch-28 or Saroja is 'WEAK STORY LINE'. There is no story line at all. If I am asked to tell about the movie plot, I won't have much to say. The movie doesn't have a continuity. It is just group of good and bad scenes which tries to tie up.

I would call Premji Amaran as the hero of movie. Premji is the person who holds the audience. Otherwise, I won't wonder if ppl had walked away in the middle. Though he repeats the old 'Evvalavo pandrom...', 'Enna Koduma...' and all, audience still like it. Continue till the claps stop Premji!

Premji has helped in Background score too. He is very good in using old songs at the right place. Even in this movie, he has brilliantly used 'nagruthana dhiranana' (Chinna Veedu), 'ayyayyo' (Paruthi veeran), 'puli urumudhu' (Vettaikaran), 'kangal iranda' (Subramanyapuram) etc. Overall, Premji has emphasized his importance! But I am not sure how long he is going to act the same way.

Jai had no scope.  Vaibhav had a good role.

Piaa Bajpai was not looking beautiful in Poi Solla Porom or Aegan. But in this movie, she is gorgeous. She should be getting some good heroine roles from now.

Sneha..... Well, not a bad role. Some anti heroine kind of character. But as a fan of Sneha, I was not satisfied ;-)

Aravind Akash is good. Looking handsome with newly developed 6 packs. An important role too! This should be an important movie for Sampath Raj. So far he had been shown rude and hard. This character as  Daniel is completely soft. Well, the homosex stuff between Aravind and Sampath had no importance in the movie except for giving a lead to Puli urumudhu spoof. May be Venkat Prabhu wanted to tell that Homosex is not something uncommon or a crime. Melanie Marie shook her head well for Kangal Iranda. But Premji ku adhu podhum.

Yuvan has given some good  numbers. Ezhezhu thalamuraikkum (Ilayaraja Family song) was good with folk touch. Idhu varai is my pick. Especially Ajeesh voice. Yuvan has given a good song to the Airtel Super Singer hero.

Venkat Prabhu. This man has enormous creativity and sense of humor. But I am afraid if Chennai-28 will be his last good film. If he concentrates more on story and screenplay, this man can rock the entire Tamil Industry.

Well, If I was given a mic outside the theatre, I would have told

"Nothing strongly bad about the movie. But it could have been better. The Venkat Prabhu holiday was not as entertaining as expected"

Finally, a bonus for readers. Hear and enjoy the 'nagrudhana' music.
